Introduction
Welcome to BeanHacks — the hackathon where caffeine meets code. Whether you're a developer, designer, product thinker, or just someone who's spent way too long waiting in a coffee shop line, this is your chance to build something that actually makes a difference. From bean to build, we're here to brew up the next generation of café tech.
Tools & Technologies
You're free to use any tools, languages, or frameworks you're comfortable with. Not sure where to start? Here are some popular options to get you going:
- Frontend — React, Vue, Flutter, Swift, Kotlin
- Backend — Node.js, Python, Django, Firebase
- Database — PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Supabase
- AI & ML — OpenAI API, Hugging Face, TensorFlow
- Design — Figma, Canva
- Hardware — Raspberry Pi, Arduino (for physical prototypes)
No gatekeeping here — use whatever helps you build the best solution.
Inspiration
Not sure where to begin? Here are a few real problems worth solving:
- A barista accidentally makes the same drink twice because the order system is unclear
- A café runs out of oat milk on a busy Monday morning with no warning
- A customer waits 20 minutes only to realize their order was lost
- A café owner has no idea which menu items are actually profitable
Sound familiar? These are the problems BeanHacks was made for.
